Securing the safety and security of top leaders of countries, celebrities and the rich and famous has never been easy as they are commonly the victims of terror threat, kidnapping and stalking. The nature of their jobs, the position they are into and the money attached to their names and positions pose as temptations to the public. Despite security measures, some well-planned schemes were almost successful, some others were not but a few crimes were really committed into action and proved to be successful for the perpetrators.

Managing celebrity security is the most difficult because of the nature of their profession as it require them to be always on the spotlight and be with a large crowd. They become more vulnerable to threats because of their lifestyles. Despite their status, many try to live as normal as possible like going shopping unaccompanied to the point of risking their lives. We hear over the radio, read on the papers and see on the television and the internet so much about paparazzis sticking their cameras in front of celebrities’ faces and stalking them for days just so to take a photo or two and how celebrities abhor being hounded in this obnoxious fashion. Paparazzi harassment, however, dims in comparison to kidnapping and death threats. Celebrities are always on guard to maintain their safety and of their families taking extraordinary security measures in place at all times to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Taking a kidnap threat seriously against Australian actor Russell Crowe in 2001, the FBI insisted on accompanying him to the Academy Awards just to protect him. The FBI later informed him that the threat came from the Al-Qaeda. It was so fortunate that the plot was discovered before it was really committed. What about those that were literally materialized into action?

In 1985, Julio Iglesias’ father, Julio Iglesias, Sr., was kidnapped by Basque terrorists and held captive for 2 weeks, repeatedly threatened with death but was later rescued by Spanish police unharmed on the day the ransom money was supposed to be release to the kidnappers. Although he was never harmed physically, he was badly traumatized by the incident.

Because of this, the need for security globally has increased. The forecasted expenditure allotted on security services alone, by 2012 is expected at $200 billion.

Sports paintings allow fans and athletes to save a moment in time and remember it forever. Sports art collectors, myself included, usually immediately think of a framed photograph to hang on our wall, which usually include an autograph by the player as well. As a matter of fact, a picture was the only kind of sports artwork that Id even known about, aside from memorabilia such as a bat, baseball, hockey stick or jersey. This was before I saw the sports paintings by sports artist Adam Port.

In 2006, Port was featured on The Best Damn Sports Show Period on Fox Sports. He presented former Detroit Piston basketball player, and then co-host of the show, John Salley, with one of his famous basketball paintings. The artwork spoke for itself, as did Salleys reaction, which is typically the same for everyone – staring in amazement as they realize that its a painting, not a picture.

Salley isnt the only athlete to have this reaction. Port has created football paintings for Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens, Justin Tuck of the New York Giants, Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks (although he was on the Denver Nuggets at the time of the painting), Rod Gilbert of the New York Rangers, Michael Jordan and John Stocktons Basketball Hall of Fame induction class, and most recently, a recreation of the Charles M. Conlon pictures, which were turned into baseball paintings. The Conlon paintings once again had Port featured on Fox Sports, This Week in Baseball.

After seeing Ports sports art, I now consider paintings of sports just as much as an option as a picture, stick, puck, bat, ball or jersey. As a matter of fact, Ports sports paintings are like nothing Ive ever seen before. They are so realistic that you might never be able to tell that its a painting until youre told, or youre standing face to face with it.

If youre a sports fan, sports art collector or an athlete you must see Adams artwork. Maybe you have no interest in sports at all, but youre an artist, or maybe youre not even an artist, you still should take a look at his sports paintings.

Finding the perfect voice for your project can seem like an overwhelming task. The voice talent must be able to convey the correct emotion for the script, sound authoritative and knowledgeable, communicate and pronunciate clearly, and fit the subject and audience. Here are three steps to help you find the right voice-over actor or actress for your project.

    Determine your needs.
Before you begin listening to demos and sifting through resumes, determine what exactly youll need from the talent. Do you need to find local talent that you can communicate with face to face, or can you hire someone that works remotely? Both options have their pros and cons. Some producers prefer to sit in on recording sessions so they can give notes and make suggestions. This can be especially beneficial if youre dealing with a highly technical or scientific script that contains hard to pronounce words or acronyms. However, attending recording sessions can lead to scheduling problems and giving too many notes can increase session time and costs. Many VO artists prefer to work remotely and deliver files over the Internet. Remote work is typically less expensive and has a faster turnaround, but carries the risk of getting reads you are unhappy with or that must be redone because of errors.

    Consider the audience and subject.
As you begin your search for the right voice-over actress or actor think about the message you are trying to convey and the audience that will be listening. Do you need a fun and bubbly voice, or a stern and serious voice? Would a caring, tender voice send the wrong message? How about a distinguished, scholarly sounding voice? A voice-over actor that is perfect for a law enforcement training video is probably not going to be the best voice to narrate a childrens book, and differences like this should definitely be considered. Think about dialect and accent too. Sometimes the right accent or dialect can add a sense of familiarity or relateability with your particular audience, other times an accent might seem less approachable or trustworthy.

    Listen to demos.
Once you have an idea of the type of voice youre seeking start listening to voice-over talent demos. Well regarded and professional VO actors and actresses will certainly have a variety of high quality material to show. Listen in to the demo material and evaluate the subtle qualities of each narrators voice. Do they speak clearly and are the easy to understand? How is the pace of their read? Is it too fast or slow? Does their pace match the subject matter?

By breaking down the process into easy steps finding the perfect voice can be easy, and having the right voice for your production will help you better connect with your audience and convey your message.

Too many hairs are a cause of worry for all but too less or decreasing hairs are cause of worry too. This problem is very common these days among the people. Celebrities on the page three are latest target of this receding hair line. Bollywood stars spent hours in the gym so that they can look good and masculine. But when it comes about hairs, they take an extra step because for them, whatever looks good, sells best.
Hair fall and early greying was the problem that our bollywood stars have faced from quite long. Raj Kumar, Feroze Khan and Rakesh Roshan had used wigs to cover their bald heads. As there were not many options available, these stars had to resort to wearing wigs, which was tedious and gave artificial look. But soon, the place of wigs was replaced by hair weaving. This brought a sigh of relief for our bollywood stars who were struggling with their bad and falling hair. Akshaye Khanna, Govinda, Himesh Reshamiya adopted hair weaving, restarted their career and became a hit again. Himesh Reshamiya was always found wearing a cap due to his balding head, but after going through hair transplant, he has now removed his cap and looks dashing in his new flick, DammaDam! But the one, who has set a Ready trend in hair transplant, is our own Dabangg Bodyguard, Salman Khan.
Its a fact that excessive gymming and use of chemicals along with stress results into hair fall. Few years back, Salman underwent hair transplant to regain his silky strands, which he flaunted many a times in movies like Tere Naam. To look masculine, he underwent hair extensions for Veer. It was Salman only, who suggested Govinda to go for hair transplant from Dubai, to restart his career in Bollywood after a long period of time.
But hair transplant is not just limited to our Bollywood celebrities only. In India, there are two things famous, first is Bollywood and second is cricket. This era is the era of consumerism and cricket is the one, that endorses the major consumer products. So they have to look good to sell the things in the best way. Virender Sehwag aka Veeru, went for hair transplant from Delhi. He has set a trend in cricket. Harsha Bhogle, the very known face on the TV as a cricket commentator, adopted hair transplant. Now, we can very well imagine that hairs are very important for all of us, be it a celebrity or a common man. So, if your falling/ greying or receding hair line is giving you sleepless nights, just fix up an appointment with a local hair transplant clinic, and get back your own crowning glory.

Celebrities are considered role models for the general public. They are gazed upon in adoration, and people take great notice of the things they do. Many people look up to those who are famous, and try to emulate the things they do in hopes of being like them. So, when celebrities do something that is not entirely positive, sadly, there will be those who follow suit and get on the bandwagon.

Such is the case when it comes to alternative cigarettes. There have always been a huge number of famous people who smoke. Perhaps its something about the limelight that inspires them to crave the calming effects of nicotine. So, in the past year, celebrities have really gotten smart and started using electronic cigarettes, and many once notorious tobacco smokers, are publically bragging about their awesome e-cigarettes! We highly applaud their efforts because theyre setting such a great example of themselves for choosing so responsibly, a product that is so much better for their health as well as the environment. In addition, we think its awesome that theyre spreading the word about smokeless cigarettes, and how great they are. Sadly, however, there are still those in the spotlight who havent gotten the smoke-free memo. Here are the top five celebs who need to can the tobacco and grab a stylish e-cig:

    #5: Salma Hayak
    #4: Kristin Dunst
    #3: Kristin Stewart
    #2: Jessica Alba
    #1: President Barack Obama

So, the Hollywood starlet probably come as no surprise, but as beautiful young women whose careers are stationed upon their beauty, they should understand that tobacco smoke ages the skin with its carcinogenic agents, as well as destroys internal organs by encouraging cancer! Neither of which are sexy, or cool. The number one on the list of celebs who need to switch to smokeless would have to be President Barack Obama. Is there anyone more looked up to than our president? Imagine how popular e-cigarettes would be if he were spotted with one of the fabulous electronic cigarette starter kits?

The latest in a long string of celebrities to write children’s books when the going gets tough, Barack Obama has joined the ranks of children’s authors with his book, Of thee I sing.

Bookstores across the world are filled with celebrity offerings and Obama is not the first celebrity to turn to writing children’s books when they have been perceived less than favourably in the press. Though admittedly, he is the first president to aim his work at children. n.

Well-known names such as Madonna (who released her first of six children’s books, The English Roses, back in 2003) and Sarah Ferguson (who has released a string of books throughout her many periods of disgrace) have jumped on the bandwagon.

It is thought that these celebrities (including former First-Lady, Hilary Clinton) believe that by showing their softer, compassionate side, will regain the public’s trust and respect after falling from grace. Take Jordan, a.k.a Katie Price, for example – after a string of allegations and accusations in the press, Jordan released her sparkly pink offering, My Pony Care book.

Obama has provided himself some saving grace, in the form of all his proceeds going to charity. All money gained from sales of the publication will benefit the Fisher House Foundation, a charity dedicated to the children of soldiers wounded or killed in battle, and Obama is not giving any interviews in relation to the release.

Other cynics have also attributed the celebrities’ enthusiasm to the success achieved by the phenomenally popular Harry Potter books, which made JK Rowling both a celebrity and a millionaire.

Despite the fact that many cynics see celebrities’ writing ambitions as a money-making enterprise, it can be argued that it doesn’t matter who’s written the books; if children are more inclined to sit down and read just because their favourite celebrity is attached to the novel, where is the harm?

By reading more, children widen their vocabulary and advance their development. This outcome is positive even if the books themselves may ultimately be a cynical attempt at making cash and creating publicity.

Most martial artists are in excellent health and wonderful shape. Yet to find out how a martial artist can increase their kicking speed one must look to the simple facts of conditioning. It is pushing yourself to get to the next level in your kicking and that means pushing your body as well.

While it may seem crazy the first way to speed up the kicks is to slow down the body. One important aspect of martial arts is the need for long, lean and powerful muscles. To achieve that place an individual must stretch. Unfortunately that seems to be the part of a workout that gets overlooked. Doing stretching properly is even more important since it is to relax and release the muscles not shorten them in pain.

Warmth is the crucial aspect to stretching. Getting up and stretching first thing is not the most effective way to help your body. After a night of sleep and little movement your muscles are tight and slow. Taking a hot bath or shower is a wonderful way to wake up the muscles warmly and get them ready for stretching. Once you are warm start moving to allow the blood to begin flowing throughout the body and relaxing your muscles.

To kick higher you have to get stronger. Do this by adding extra weights to your legs during the day to push your normal activity to the next level. However, do not start kicking when you first put the weights on. Let your muscles get used to them. Just wearing them doing your normal activities is building up your muscle tone. When you feel like you are used to wearing them then you can start with low kicks to let your legs learn the new movement.

Finding a target to kick at is a great way of developing your mind and body connection. Hang something six inches higher than you can actually kick and try to reach the object. This will motivate you to reach the item and will allow your eyes to see and the mind to understand that it has to do more.

When you are used to the ankle weights try kicking with them on after proper warm up and stretching. This pushes your strength to the brink.

Then have someone video record your kick and see if you are wasting any movements. Are you taking too many steps to set up? Are you adding an extra step that not only is taking away from your speed by telling your opponent what you plan to do? Watch the tape and see where you can economize your movements to create a smoother, faster kicking process.

Once you have seen some progress with the weight on take it off to see how much easier it is to kick faster and higher. Your foot will feel light and you will see the amazing difference these steps made to how a martial artist can increase their kicking speed.

One of the major Optical Art (Op Art) proponents, British artist and printmaker Bridget Riley was born on the 24th of April, 1931 in London. Riley is most commonly known for her signature black and white oil paintings depicting geographic patterns that cause optical illusions which have become synonymous with the Op Art movement.

Bridget Riley was educated at the Royal College of Art from 1952 to 1955 and in these years her paintings were semi-impressionist and figurative. It was not until the 1960s that her signature style developed.

Riley’s black and white forms – painted in oil paint on canvas – gave viewers the impression of movement and colour due to optical illusions. Works such as -Movement in Squares- (1961), -Black to White Discs- (1961-62), -Loss- (1964), -Blaze 4? (1964), -Drift No. 2? (1966) and -Cataract 3? (1967) typically possessed such characteristics.

Bridget Riley’s paintings also had another feature – the potential for increased audience participation in the appreciation or display of the work of art. This was a hot topic in the 60s, when many performances were being classified as -happenings.- Happenings are unconventional and formless performances where audience involvement actually determines the course of the performance. Riley’s oil paintings were in a sense dependent on what the individual experienced on viewing them. Though the paintings were given names hinting at their subjects, they could be interpreted by the audience in any way.

Riley held the first of these exhibitions, which were pivotal in getting the world’s attention to the Op Art movement and Riley’s art, in 1965 at the Museum of Modern Art, New York City. She had already held her first solo in 1962 at Gallery One, London. Other exhibitions followed, but it was the 1965 show at New York that drew international recognition.

By 1967, Bridget Riley began to modify her style and thought of incorporating oil colour in her art. She began incorporating on colour stripes in an oil painting entitled -Paean- (1973), -Dominance Portfolio, Blue- (1977), -Ra2? (1981) and -Silvered 2? (1981). Crucial to this change was the extensive travelling she undertook from the 1970s. The hieroglyphic decorations she saw during her visit to Egypt played an important part in leading her to incorporate colour and contrast. Her later works are colourful and some of these bright paintings include -Fete- (1999), -Echo- (2000), -Carnival- (2000) and -Sylvan- (2000).

Among the other achievements of Bridget Riley is her distinction of becoming the first woman and British contemporary painter to receive the International Prize for painting at the 1968 Venice Biennale.

Using Artists Materials and supplies in a new and innovative way to pioneer a the Op Art movement in painting, Bridget Riley is undoubtedly one of Britain’s most important artists. Her geometric patterns skilfully created with Oil Paints have influenced many and have been appreciated by all sections of the audience.
